A-Team has a home game tonight vs Como.  Apologies for the last minute notification. The league is using this weeks game to finalize pools for the state tournament this coming weekend (in other words, if we win we will be at the top of our pool at state).  Players show up at sunrise at 5:00 pm, game at 6:00!  please text and spread the word to all teammates.

Conference Championship Game

The Classic Suburban Conference Championship is Tomorrow night! Come join us at the WBL football stadium at 7:00 pm Friday May 24th (tomorrow) in support of your Bears!  White Bear Lake will be playing Mahtomedi.  Presentation of the new Classic Suburban Conference Champions trophy will be at the conclusion of the game.  We could still use 1-2 more volunteers. call coach Ken Auger 651-783-6965 or email at ken.l.auger@gmail.com

A-Team Hopkins Hustle Tournament this weekend

Hopkins Hustle Tournament is THIS WEEKEND!  There are two game scheduled for now and others to follow.  Total there will be 3 games each day.  First game is Saturday at 8:30 am.  Players plan to be there by 7:30. Game two is scheduled for 10:15.  Usually there is a lunch break and the third and final game is around 1:00 or 2:00pm. 2013 Conference Championships Hosted by WBL!
Volunteers Needed!

White Bear Lake High School's Athletic Director, Community Services department, and the Minnesota Youth Ultimate League have approved our proposal to host this years Classic Suburban Conference Championship games in the football stadium at White Bear Lake South Campus.  As members of the Classic Suburban Conference, White Bear Lake A and B teams will be competing against other members within our conference for a chance to participate in this game.  The game will take place on Friday 5/24.  In order to run this event we are asking for parent and player volunteers with various important roles.  Parents who signed up as volunteers at our parents meeting here's your chance to help out!  If interested please contact Ken Auger at ken.l.auger@gmail.com or 651-783-6965.

Due to the inclement weather this spring, the Face Off Tournament on Saturday, 4/27 has been canceled. This affects the Girls and B Team.

B Team has postponed all games scheduled for this week (4/22-26).

A Team is planning to play their game Thursday against Edina AT HOME. The game was originally scheduled to be played at Edina, but they do not at the moment have the field capability.

Sweatshirt Orders - Due Wednesday, 4/24

Coaches are accepting sweatshirt orders between now and Wednesday, April 24th. The cost is $30, and orders will only be taking orders with payment. Checks can be made out to WBL Ultimate. Orders will not be taken without money. Here's what your coach needs to know:

The B Team's game vs Hill Murray, originally scheduled for Thursday, April 11 and rescheduled for Tuesday, April 16th has been postponed. There is no date set yet for a reschedule. The B Team's game on Thursday, April 18th is currently still scheduled, though it is subject to change due to (what else) the weather.

Face Off Tournament - Date Moved, Details

The Face Off Tournament, hosted by Cathedral Ultimate in St Cloud, was originally scheduled to be held next Saturday, April 20th. Due to weather and field conditions, the tournament will now be played on Saturday, April 27th. This message applies to the Girls Team and B Team. Details are provided below!

blocks (at 3 blocks street curves left) to Whitney Park (on the left, YMCA on the right)

Parking: on-street or parking lot just behind field location

Restrooms and Storm Shelters: In Whitney Center or YMCA

Times: Games begin 9:00a sharp. Please arrive by 8:30a for warm-ups, sign-in.

Tourney Ends: 4:00 PM

Captains’ Meeting: 8:40 AM near registration tent

Lunch: 12:00-1:00 Bring brown bag lunch or eat at nearby fast food joint

Water: Provided on field throughout day.

Pool play in the morning. 2-flighted Bracket play in afternoon. All teams

play 6 games. All games start on the hour. Each team gets 1 time out per game. 4 minute half-time.

Games are 9 points, short half at 5. At 45 minutes, warning horn will

sound for soft-cap. At 50 minutes horn will sound for hard cap.

To speed play: after goal, scoring team has 90 seconds to put disc back

into play. If weather conditions are difficult, games may be shortened.

1st Game & Practice Info

The first games for the A, B, and Girls teams were originally scheduled for next week. Due to weather and the amount of snow that still needs to melt away before grass can be seen and played on, MN Youth Ultimate has decided to push back the first games one week.

Girls play games on Tuesday nights throughout the regular season; A & B play on Thursday nights. The first game for Girls is now scheduled for April 9th. The first game for A & B is now scheduled for April 11th. If these are also postponed or cancelled, we will let you know as we know.

There will be no practice on Monday, April 1st as there is no school that day.

Optional Practices During Spring Break

We will be having optional practices this week (Mar 25-28). All practices will be held at Sunrise (yes, we have the gym). Practices will run Monday through Thursday, normal time (3:15/30 to 5:15/30). Enjoy your break!

Team Rosters & Practice

For all of those who tried out over the last week, thank you for showing up and doing your best! We would like everyone who participated in the tryouts to show up at practice on Monday. You have secured a spot on one of the teams; we have not, however, finalized the rosters for each team. Students who submitted forms at the parents meeting indicating they were not interested in attending tryouts should also attend practice on Monday.

Practice will be held at Bossard Park (near Sunrise Middle School). Please show up as soon as you can after school is over, practice will officially run from 3:30 to 5:30. Remember to bring water, warm clothes, running shoes, discs and anything else you might need.

Clarification on Fees

Hello all!

It sounds like there is some mix-up regarding fees for this spring. We're sorry for any confusion.

The total cost is $135. $105 goes to WBL Ultimate and can be turned in at the Parents Meeting on Tuesday, February 26th @ 6pm at Jimmy's. The other $30 goes directly to USA Ultimate (USAU) to pay for the student's membership.

We suggest visiting USA Ultimate's website and taking care of registration online, though if you prefer paper the document was included in the packet handed out at the players meeting.
Please note: USAU membership is NOT required for tryouts, but once on a team membership is required.
