Open B State Details

Open B will have games at 9a, 11a, and 1p on Sunday. Our first game will be at field L3. The other games locations depend on results from the each game.

Players should be cleated and ready to go at 8:20. Captains: there will NOT be another meeting before game 1, just show up at the field with everybody else.

Open B - No Games Until State

Open B will not be making up our game vs Hastings. There will be practice tomorrow (Thursday), but not Friday.

More details about State on Sunday will be posted soon.

Banquet Postponed

The banquet has been postponed and will now take place on Tuesday, June 10th at Podvin Park at 5p.

Players can dress up a bit, but might want to bring a change of clothes in case a game breaks out...

Open A @ Apple Valley Tuesday

What: Rescheduled pool play from State. WBL A resumes their game v. 4th seed Apple Valley with a trip to the quarter finals on the line.

When: Tuesday June 3rd, 7:00pm. Players should be in Apple Valley and cleated by 6:00pm

Day 2 of State: Sunday, June 8th

Day 2 of State, which was postponed due to weather, will now take place on Sunday, June 8th. It will again be held at the National Sports Center in Blaine.

More specific details will be posted later in the week (Wednesday/Thursday).

Open A players should arrive by 7:00a.

Game schedules for the rest of the day depend on results from the first game Sunday morning and will vary for each team.

Open A Team State Info

What:

State Tournament, the last chance to see our Bears play this season!

We are heading into the tournament ranked 5th in the state and looking to have a strong performance this weekend. 

Where:

-Blaine National Sports Center

Schedule for the Weekend:

-Saturday: 10:30 v. Northfield, 12:30 v. Mounds View, 2:30 v. Apple Valley. Our games will take place on fields I3 and I4.

-Sunday: determined by Saturday's results, but likely a full day of Ultimate. Look for a post early Saturday evening explaining our schedule for Sunday.

Carpool from Sunrise:  

Players (and families that would like to carpool) should be at Sunrise no later than 9:00am on Saturday morning to carpool to Blaine, allowing us to get to the fields and warmup before our first game. Players, please let a coach know if you plan on meeting us directly at the fields and not carpooling, if so, be at the fields no later than 9:15, allowing you enough time to find us and begin our warmup at 9:30.

These are the only games this week as teams prepare for the State Tournament this weekend. Details on State to come soon.

Conference Championship on Friday

White Bear Lake Open A will play Mahtomedi A at 6:30p on Friday, May 23rd. The game will be played at South campus football field. Players should be there at 5:30 (seniors will be late due to Sr Day). Conference awards will be announced during the game. All WBL frisbee players are encouraged to come support. Open B Game Thursday

Open B will play Eagan C at home on Thursday at 6pm.

Picture Day on Wednesday

All teams will be taking team & individual pictures on Wednesday, May 21st at the beginning of practice. Wear your jersey!

The optional picture package costs $8 and includes:
- one 3 1/2 x 5 individual
- one 5 x 7 team, inside an 8 x 10 mat
- one individual picture button

Open B Game Tomorrow (Thursday)

Open B will play St Paul Charter Thursday, May 15, at HOME. The game starts at 6p at Sunrise, players should arrive by 5p.

Rescheduled Games

Girls will play Open World Community on Monday at 3pm (this time is correct, not a typo) in White Bear Lake (Sunrise). This game was originally away.

Open B will play Mahtomedi B on Wednesday at 6pm in White Bear Lake (Sunrise). This game was originally away.

Open A's game has yet to be rescheduled but details will be posted as soon as they are available.

New Tournament for Open A

Players should meet at Sunrise at 7:45am, first game is at 9am. The schedule for the rest of the day is still TBD.

Hopkins Hustle Tournament Details

Our Open A and Girls teams will be attending the Hopkins Hustle this weekend in Maple Plain, MN (6755 Turner Rd, Maple Plain, MN 55359). We would love for parents and family come out for the games. It is sure to be a great time for the players and there will be a lot of great Ultimate to be showcased. If you can't make it, we will be posting updates to @WBLUltimate on Twitter if you would like to follow along.

We are asking players to meet at Sunrise between 6:45 and 7:00am on Saturday to carpool. We have 4 games on Saturday (8:30, 10:15, BYE - no games (right around lunch time), 1:45, 3:30. 
Following the day's games there will be pizza and a showcase game.

We will follow with an update that will include Sunday's schedule, which depends on how the squads fare on Saturday.

Open B will play Eagan B tomorrow, May 1st at 6pm at Sunrise. This is a reschedule from April 17th.

Players should arrive at 5pm.

We've received clearance from Sunrise Middle School to use their fields. All practices and games will take place at Sunrise for the remainder of the season.

Face Off Schedule Update!!

Open B's first game of the Faceoff tournament starts at 10:00 tomorrow; we don't have a game in the first time slot. Because of this, we don't need to be there until 9am. As a change to previous instructions, please meet at Sunrise at 7:35 for a 7:45 departure. Coach Robert will be at Sunrise at that time with field maps.

Face Off Rides

For B Team players and parents who might be driving to Face Off this weekend, please meet at Sunrise parking lot at 6:20am this Saturday to find rides for all players. We will need to leave Sunrise by 6:30am to make it to the tournament by 7:50am.

In a repeat of last spring, the weather has forced our first games to be postponed. We will post updated schedules once we know the new dates!

Fundraiser on April 5th

Our last fundraiser of the year has been moved to Saturday, April 5th. We will be selling the unlimited-use coupon cards around White Bear Lake. The fundraiser goes from 11:00 - 5:00 and will start at Sunrise Middle School.

Parents - If you are able, we would love if you could help us make this a successful fundraiser! All that would be asked of you is that you drive kids along the designated route that will be provided. You wouldn't even have to get out of the car! Our first fundraiser of the year is tomorrow night!

USAU MEMBERSHIP:

Now that teams are announced, please register for your USAU #. Make sure that your membership is paid for and your waiver is signed for this season. All of this can be done online and detailed instructions are provided at the bottom of this post.

FIRST PRACTICE:

First practice will be tomorrow for ALL TEAMS. Make sure to bring a water bottle, running shoes (not cleats - those are for later when we have grass to run on), warm clothes, and a disc if you have one (recommended: Discraft UltraStar 175 gram)!

If you are on Open A, please meet at the Sunrise Middle School Gym at 3:15p.

If you are on Girls A or Open B, meet at Bossard Park (south end of Prairie Road) at 3:15p.

Parents (all teams) - if you are picking your child up from practice, you can do so tomorrow at the Sunrise parking lot at 5:15p.

USAU Membership Detailed Instructions:

How to sign up for USAU online membership

1. Go to http://www.usaultimate.org/membership

2. Click the Login/Create Account link near the top of the screen.

3. Log into your online membership account: 

  a. If you already have a USAU online membership account, then enter your E-mail Address and Password       and click the Login button.

  b. To create an online account, scroll down to read the instructions and then choose the appropriate option.       For returning members, click Membership Information. 

4. On the next screen, fill in all required fields. When you are done, click Create Account.

5. On the USAU Membership Dues Payment screen, select the $30 Youth Annual Membership option and 

then click the Pay with PayPal button.

6. Follow the payment instructions:

  a. If you have a PayPal account, you will be prompted to log in. Proceed as instructed.

  b. If you do NOT have a PayPal account, you have the option of creating one now, or just paying with 

      your credit card as a one-time transaction through PayPal. Choose your preferred option and proceed 

      as instructed.

When you are done, you should be able to view your account information online. Still confused? Call the USAU at 800-872-4384 to join and pay by phone.

Boys Tryouts

Tryouts for all boy players will be held this week (Mar 17-19), Monday through Wednesday! They will be at Sunrise Middle School Gym from 3:15 - 5:00p. You must attend at least one day; you can choose to attend more than one.

Teams will be announced on this site on Wednesday night.

The first practice for all players is this Thursday, March 20th at Bossard Park from 3:15 - 5:00p.

Welcome to the 2014 season!

Hello and welcome to the start of the 2014 White Bear Lake Ultimate season! We are excited to get started. First, thank you for attending the parents meeting tonight! If you need any of the information from tonight's meeting in writing, please contact WBLCoachRobert@gmail.com.

A quick recap of upcoming important dates:

Monday, Wednesday March 3rd & 5th: Female player tryouts.

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday March 17-19: Male player tryouts.

Night of March 19th - Teams posted to this website.

March 20th - First practice (Bossard Park)

All tryouts are held at Sunrise Middle School Gym, 3:15 - 5:00. If you have not turned in the forms packet, please bring them to tryouts. You will NOT be allowed to tryout if you do not submit forms (mostly for the medical authorization form).

March 10-13: Optional "Warm-up Week" practices. These are just for preparation and fun. Come work on your throws with the coaches!
